Since its inauguration, Kritoggo has designed and implemented various programs that benefit the society. Listed below are a few of Kritoggo’s key campaigns that we work on all year long.
As we grow further, and focus on our long term goal of making our beneficiaries not be donation dependent, we are starting a foundation course for children in school who are finding it hard to keep up with the digitalisation and want to develop a career in IT. The course is based on IT and aligns with SDG 4 and 8 (Quality Education/Decent work and Economic growth).
Covid-19 pandemic has caused huge destruction in lives causing an increase in poverty by 42% (and this may well increase in the future) in Bangladesh due to the loss of occupations. Our food bank was launched to combat the massive food crisis. We distributed over 500+ grocery bags during the initial launch.
In 2022, after almost 2 years of running Kritoggo, we wanted to design campaigns that align more with SDG goals and have an overall larger impact. We came up with Project Prochesta.
Project Neer was created when we found out about the water crisis during one of our field visits in Nabiganj. While most of us hardly have to worry about the shortage of water or about its purity, there are people, especially in the rural side, who have to travel miles to collect water and even then it’s mostly impure and filled with excess iron.
At Kritoggo, we always strive to be innovative and design our campaigns keeping our motto, United We Bring Change, in mind. In Ramadan 2023, under our Food Bank program, we launched “10 taka bazaar” where anyone can buy any item for only 10 taka.
Kritoggo was inaugurated right when winter was about to start. Since then, winter has always been special for us and we have been carrying out winter campaigns every year.
Our annual Ramadan campaign has always been a success and is known as the “Campaign of Miracles” as that is what we often witness. From having a slow start to funds, unsure how to execute events, to miraculously exceeding our target (oftentimes overnight)- Ramadan is always a time of joy for us.
Whenever disaster strikes, Team Kritoggo is always ready to stand beside the victims. During Ramadan 2021, a horrible storm hit the Bangla Bazar area of Nobiganj Sylhet.
Most of our beneficiaries include homeless people and kids. We believe every child deserves a beautiful childhood, but unfortunately most do not get one.
