Project Neer was created when we found out about the water crisis during one of our field visits in Nabiganj. While most of us hardly have to worry about the shortage of water or about its purity, there are people, especially in the rural side, who have to travel miles to collect water and even then it’s mostly impure and filled with excess iron.
We inaugurated the project in Anatabad, Nabiganj back in 2021. We noticed how many families in Anatabad had a shortfall of access to clean water. From elderly to children as young as 5, they had to travel long distances on a daily basis to bring a limited amount for their necessary uses. Through Project Neer, we installed 4 tube- wells in 2 locations in Nabiganj; which ensured easy access to clean, hygienic and safe drinking water for everyone living there.
About 100 families (along with bystanders and the general public who pass the areas) have benefited from the 4 tube-wells installed so far.
